Spring days are finally here

Finally spring has arrived to Canada! I feel like we have been getting nothing but snow and rain in the past several months and finally this week the sun has decided to greet us with it's presence and I could finally put away my winter/rain coats and boots and all those other chunky accessories. Although I lovee Canada this winter has been brutal and me being a person who's mood is greatly affected by weather I almost felt so sad and depressed that it's been such a cold and miserable winter/spring. Here's hoping this nice weather continues!

Oscars Best and Worst Dressed 2014

Sooo I completely forgot about the Oscars post I was gonna do whoops! God I am horrible at this blog thing haha! Well hopefully I'll get better at it :p ...anyway I'll get onto the point of this post.

This year we saw mostly neutral colours at the Oscars, I don't know why that is especially since bright colours have been very in especially with the colour of the year being Radiant Orchid. There were only a handful of celebrities who chose a colourful dress and they probably stood out the most to me as I LOVEE colour. Another trend was capes and shawls from Camilla Alves and Kate Hudson to Jada Pinket Smith and Lady Gaga and I have to say they def worked for me (for the most part..I'm looking at you Penelope). Now lets get to the dresses!

Mommy to be Olivia Wilde in this gorgeous Valentino gown (I had to show the back as well because the dress would not be complete without it)

Jennifer Lawrence (looking as gorgeous as ever) in a bright orange Dior gown

And now for the Worst dressed...

Penelope Cruz in Giambattista Valli ..this wasn't my favourite look, it didn't really flatter Penelope's figure at all and the added shawl was visibly annoying as she had to keep adjusting it.

Kerry Washington in Jason Wu.. Although I loved the colour and thought it suited her skin tone I just did not like the model of the dress, it looked like a wrinkled satin bed sheet. Her Golden Globes dress on the other hand was wayyyy better! 

Liza Minneli.. Don't know who the designer is but I didn't enjoy this suit anyway. I love blue and it has been my favourite colour to wear for the past year but this is just a little to extreme for me. If the pants were a different colour she might have been able to pull it off. 

Whoopi Goldberg ... I could not find the designer of this outfit ..probably for the better because this is just...as Consuela would say...No...No...

Elsa Pataky in Elie Saab, although I love Elie Saab designs this was not my favourite. It is very unflattering and the colour..just no. Both Kerry and Elsa should have taken some pointers from Olivia 

Veerle Baetens in Haider Ackermann ...All I have to say is...why?... just why..

Anna Kendrick in J. Mendel... I love this girl, so it makes me so sad to have to put her on the worst dressed list. There was just wayy too much going on here that it just looked like a mess.

Although there were many gorgeously dressed ladies tonight, they couldn't all make it on my top 10 list so here are some other great dresses of the night that didn't make the top 10 but are nevertheless still amazing

Oscars Best Dresses of All Time!

Since the Oscars are on tonight and all anyone can talk about is what everyone is gonna wear I decided I would compile a best dressed list of some of my all time favourite dresses throughout the years.

Starting with Sandra Bullock wearing Elie Saab for the 2013 Oscars. I find that Elie Saab makes some of the greatest dresses, and never ceases to amaze me. The amazing amount of detail in these dresses always blows my mind.

Next up Jessica Chastain wearing Armani prive for the 2013 Oscars. When I saw this dress for the first time I was blown away. It not only is so well fitting and gorgeous, it also really complimented Jessica's complexion and hair colour. A lot of the times the dress ends up wearing the actress instead of the other way around and I felt that in this instance Jessica definitely pulled of this number!

Mila Kunis's lilac Elie Saab dress that she wore to the 2011 Oscars was probably one of my all time favourite gowns! There are no words for how much I love it!

This dress is another fav. Sarah Jessica Parker is wearing Christian Dior for the 2009 Oscars

Jessica Chastain in Alexander McQueen for the 2012 Oscars. You can never go bad in gold and black and I absolutely love the gold detail on this dress.

Heidi Klum in Galliano for the 2008 Oscars. All I have to say for this dress is...RED RED RED.

Sandra Bullock again (you obviously can tell which celebs have the best stylists ;) ) in Marchesa for the 2010 Oscars.

This dress was another one of my favourites of all time! I absolutely love this colour and Zoe definitely rocked this Givenchy dress for the 2010 Oscars.

Last but not least is Nicole Kidman wearing Balenciaga for the 2007 Oscars. Again all that I can say is...RED...and BOWS haha loved that simple cut of this dress drew your attention to the lovely oversized bow.
